FAIRBORN — A fire destroyed a home in Fairborn on New Year’s Day.

Fairborn firefighters responded around 12:10 p.m. to the 100 block of Fig Street on reports of a house fire.

Initial scanner traffic indicated that heavy fire was showing from the back of the house.
Video and photos show the left back side of the house damaged beyond repair.
The homeowner told our News Center 7 crew at the scene that no one was hurt. She did not know how the fire started. She said her neighbors saw the fire and alerted them.
The home is considered a total loss.
