Less than 800 remain without power after Saturday’s strong wind gusts

MIAMI VALLEY — Several hundred people remain without power Sunday after high winds moved through the region.

The number of outages was as high as over 26,000 on Saturday, according to AES Ohio.

As of 4:36 p.m., 222 AES Ohio customers are without power, according to AES Ohio’s outage map.

Outages are being reported in the following counties:

  • Montgomery: 148
  • Greene: 44
  • Shelby: 16
  • Miami: 5
  • Clark: 3
  • Mercer: 1
  • Preble: 1
  • Warren: 1

AES Ohio said Sunday morning crews made remarkable progress overnight, in a statement on social media.

“In total, yesterday’s severe winds impacted 26,797 customers,” said AES Ohio. “Crews will continue restoration efforts today.

AES said they saw mostly snapped poles and downed power lines following Saturday’s strong winds.

There are less than 400 1Duke Energy customers without power in these counties:

  • Butler: 374
  • Warren: 1

Less than 200 Ohio Edison customers from Clark County are without power::

  • Clark: 199
