Power restored to most; High winds cause 10,600 Thanksgiving Eve outages

High winds cause power outages across the Miami Valley, and at different points on Thanksgiving Eve affected 10,600 Dayton Power & Light customers.

>> Windy conditions lead to multiple damage reports

There were fewer than 200 DP&L customers without power as of 12:45 a.m. Thursday.

“Crews have made steadfast progress throughout the whole day,” Mary Ann Kabel, director of corporate communications for DP&L, said. “Our crews continued to keep up with the outages.”

And, despite the holiday, they are not done, she said.

“Crews are going to work through the night,” Kabel said.

People are urged to report outages, and to follow safety guidelines, such as not going near downed power lines.
