Deputies were dispatches to the apartments at about 4:48 p.m. late Wednesday afternoon on report of shots fired and a person screaming.

The victim in the shooting called the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office, reportedly around 5:00 p.m. and told them he had been shot and wounded, and would meet deputies at the Marathon Gas Mart at the 4300 block of Riverside Drive, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies found the man in the service station parking lot suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower leg.

His car had several bullet holes on the exterior left side and into the interior, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked in the Montgomery County Jail, according to a news release.

A caller to 9-1-1 reported hearing “six or seven” gunshots after screaming erupted among as many as four men in two cars and a woman at the Meadows of Catalpa. The caller said there were two men in each car and both cars took off from the parking lot of the apartment complex in opposite directions after the shots were fired.

The sheriff’s office investigation is continuing.
