MIAMI COUNTY — A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested and cited with OVI after being pulled over on I-75 in Miami County after leaving the Country Concert in Fort Loramie, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Deputy Jameson Kordik, 28, was pulled over after a state trooper said he saw him swerving on the highway in the area of 25-A in Tipp City.

“I’m getting a little bit of odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle right now,” the trooper said to Kordik after pulling him over.

Kordik was not on duty.

OSHP dash camera video shows the trooper begin giving a field sobriety test to Kordik, however after the first portion of the test Kordik refuses to complete it. It’s at that point that he was placed into handcuffs and arrested on suspicion of OVI.

The traffic stop happened on the highway around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Kordik appeared in Miami County Municipal Court on Monday, where he entered a not guilty plea.

Kordik is on unpaid administrative leave, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Kordik is the second Montgomery County deputy in recent years to be arrested for OVI after leaving Country Concert.

Following the last concert in 2019, Deputy James R. Osborne was arrested on suspicion of OVI on Ohio 185.

Osborne ended up pleading guilty to a reduced charge of willful or wanton disregard of safety of persons or property, according to online records.
