Montgomery County clerk retires after 30 years in public service

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Montgomery County Clerk of Commission Gayle Ingram is retiring after 30 years in public service.

Ingram was appointed Clerk of Commission in 2010 after serving as Manager of Commission Services and Deputy Clerk for the Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners. She began her career in public service in 1979 with the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and went on to serve in roles with New Futures for Dayton Area Youth, Inc. and the Office of Family and Children First.

"Gayle exemplifies the meaning of public service and has never wavered in her dedication to Montgomery County and our citizens," said commission president Debbie Lieberman. "We are incredibly fortunate that this tradition of excellence will continue with our new clerk of commission."

Emily Bradford has been appointed to replace Ingram. Bradford graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School and continued her education at Indiana Wesleyan University where she graduated magna cum laude, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

Bradford's career with Montgomery County began in 2006 in the Recorder's Office, where she oversaw the recording of deeds, mortgages and other legal documents related to real estate. In 2009, she moved to the commissioners' offices, working directly for commissioner Judy Dodge as an administrative assistant.

Bradford will assume her new role on August 1.
