KETTERING — The Marc’s grocery store closed in Kettering back in February, and a food desert popped up in its spot.

That’s where Councilwoman Jyl Hall jumped in and reached out to Homefull, an organization with a mobile grocery.

Beginning next Wednesday, April 26, Homefull’s Mobile Grocery will begin making stops at the Trails of Oakcreek at 1785 Renee Drive in Kettering.

“Partnering with Homefull to bring fresh food options to the Trails of Oakcreek community has been a true blessing. We’re grateful for their willingness to work with us to provide a part-time solution to the food desert we were facing,” said Councilwoman Jyl Hall.

The mobile grocery will make stops on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 2:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

“We are excited about our new partnership with the City of Kettering in addressing food insecurities that exist and pleased that our Homefull Mobile Grocery can play a part in addressing such a critical community need,” said Tina Patterson, Homefull CEO.
