MIAMISBURG — A Miamisburg man has been indicted on three felonies accusing him of stealing nearly $200,000 from the SouthStars Soccer Club based in Miamisburg.

Richard Campbell, 59, was indicted Thursday on three counts of aggravated theft after the soccer club “discovered that there were some irregularities with the bookkeeping of funds,” according to a letter from the soccer club sent out in November 2018.

“Members of the board immediately took action and began the process of investigating the situation in an effort to fully understand what was going on,” the letter states.

According to the indictment, Campbell is accused of stealing the money between Oct. 1, 2012 to Nov. 30, 2018.

News Center 7 first started reporting on the investigation when Miamisburg police started the investigation in early 2019 into potential stolen funds from the organization.

Campbell is due in court on Feb. 4 for his initial appearance on the charges.
