WHIO has confirmed that a Miami Twp. man arrested this week on child porn-related charges had been a coach for the South Stars Soccer Club of the Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association.

Ronald Hubers, 44, was arrested Wednesday at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he's employed as a civilian. Hubers was arrested on charges of pandering obscenity involving juveniles and is currently in the Montgomery County Jail.

When contacted today by WHIO, the South Stars SC released this statement:

“We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the charges and allegations against this individual. He has not been a member of the club for several years, and the club has taken immediate steps to ensure that he does not have any future affiliation. In all cases, we hold the safety of our players as our utmost priority and will continue to abide by the youth protection policies and standards set forth by the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association.”

Hubers was also previously a volunteer for the Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts released a statement saying in part that Hubers has been prohibited from any future participation in any of its programs.

It’s unclear if Hubers’ involvement with the Boy Scouts or coaching is related to his arrest.
