MIAMI COUNTY — Miami County Public Health alerted residents that someone may be using the health department’s name as part of a scam.
Public health reported that it has come to their attention that a scammer may be using their phone number to contact people and ask for money.

“Please be aware this is not any person at the health department. Miami County Public Health will not contact you in this way,” the department stated in a media release.
The county is currently still at a number three coronavirus risk level.
“Limit activities as much as possible and follow all current health orders,” public health stated in a county update.

The county has had 393 new cases since Jan. 29.
Since beginning vaccinations in December, Miami County has given more than 3,000 COVID-19 vaccines.
