The man appeared to be suffering from rib injuries and had a ‘gash’ in his leg, according to the 911 call.

The caller told police that he remained conscious but was having trouble breathing.

Dispatcher’s originally sent two crews from Gettysburg to the scene as well as a medic unit, but the man was later taken to the hospital by CareFlight.

The woman who called 911 said the man was on one of the top rungs of the ladder attempting to replace a board in their barn when he fell.
