Mary Kay cosmetics found at Dayton hit-skip crash

Two duffle bags and a suitcase carrying Mary Kay cosmetics among other items were found Thursday night by a downed light pole in an apparent hit-skip crash on U.S. 35.

Officers responded at 11:44 p.m. to the eastbound ramp to Steve Whalen Boulevard after a passerby reported a light-colored vehicle lost control, struck a light pole and fled the scene, according to the Dayton police report.

The downed pole was run over by the caller, who was concerned it would cause an accident, according to the report.

Police found three bags in the roadway near the pole, each containing a large quantity of Mary Kay products, according to the report.

A Mary Kay roller bag contained Time Warner Cable sales pamphlets and personal business cards.

It's unclear whether the baggage came from the vehicle that struck the pole.

Police attempted to contact the woman listed on the business cards, but got her voicemail.

Representatives for Mary Kay and Time Warner Cable could not be reached for comment.
