A Toledo man is accused of carjacking a vehicle after crashing his, then crashing that car following a high-speed chase in Mercer County.

Lucas J. Jackson, 37, was arraigned Monday following his indictment on 10 charges by a Mercer County grand jury, including aggravated robbery, felonious assault, aggravated menacing, grand theft of a motor vehicle and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer in the Oct. 12 incident, court records indicate.
Jackson rear-ended a vehicle while driving at a high rate of speed on Hoenie Road, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
A good Samaritan pulled over to help when Jackson reportedly used a screwdriver to carjack that motorist’s vehicle, deputies said.
Jackson was arrested following a high-speed chase that ended after he crashed, according to deputies.
Jackson is being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center.
