It started when officers tried to stop a man with $750 worth of Legos on Sunday night, but he got in his car and drove out of the parking lot.
Newly obtained body camera video shows an officer trying to confront the man, but he got into a vehicle and drove away, sideswiping the officer with his car on his way out.
That officer sustained minor injuries and did not need to be taken to the hospital, according to a spokesperson for Huber Heights Police.
As shown on News Center 7 at 6:00, video from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s cameras showed more than half a dozen police cruisers following the car on the interstate.
The chase reached speeds up to 118 mph.
The chase ended when police lost visual on the suspect in the area of Grand and Salem Avenues in Dayton.
“A possible ID has been made since the pursuit, but the investigation remains active,” a police spokesperson said.
