Man hit, killed in Richmond pedestrian accident; Police investigating

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond Police Traffic Division is investigating a pedestrian accident that left one man dead.

The accident happened Monday in the 800 block of Mendelson Drive around 4 p.m.

James D. Miller, of Richmond, was identified as the victim of the crash.

An initial investigation showed that Miller was hit by a 15 passenger van. The van was driven by a Benchmark Human Services employee. The driver was not injured in the accident.

Police said drugs, alcohol and speed were not contributing factors in the accident.
