LOGAN COUNTY — Mad River Mountain announced the official opening day for the 2020-21 season.
On Dec. 27th, Mad River Mountain will be going into its second season as a Vail Resort and is prepared to ensure the safety of guests.
“This year, more than ever, people are ready to hit the slopes”, Thomas Conti noted. “We are able to offer a socially distant sport that is focused on wide-open spaces. We are confident that our safety measures, both inside our lodge and out on our slopes, will provide a comfortable and confident skiing experience this winter.” Conti said.
Some of the the new changes to the resort include:
• Lift tickets will be sold online for the health, safety, and convenience of the guest.
• Reservations will be required to visit. Every lift ticket comes with a reservation and Pass Holders must make reservations online.
• All on-property transactions will be cashless.
• A new variable speed drive has been installed to the Sugarbush chairlift.
• An all-new parking lot redesign has been performed with guest experience top-of-mind.
• The snowmaking pumphouse has been rebuilt to ensure the foundation of the operation, snowmaking, is a stable and productive unit.
• The resort invested in a snowcat that will be hyper-focused on freestyle terrain grooming
• Pass Holders are provided Epic Coverage on their season pass for FREE. This coverage protects Pass Holders against a variety of factors like certain resort closures (such as any due to COVID-19), injury, job loss, or illness. If any of these factors happen over the course of the season, a Pass Holder may qualify for a full or prorated refund.
The ski resort will be open to guests from 9a.m.- 9 p.m.
Available terrain will be announced after the multi-day snowmaking session from Dec. 24 - 26th. Snow Tubing will not be opening Until Dec. 27th, and Avalanche Snow Tubing will be opening early January.
