DAYTON — A new service in Dayton allows homeowners to find companies to help with snow removal and lawn mowing with no need for face-to-face contact.
“A lot of it’s convenience, if you’re in the middle of the summer and you need to get your lawn mowed or if you’re in the middle of a snow storm and you call ten professionals, you’re probably going to get 10 voicemails,” said Co-Founder of GreenPal, Gene Caballero.
GreenPal launched in Dayton this week and Caballero said the company has seen an increase since the pandemic began in people over the age of 60 using the service because everything is done online or through the app.
“Homeowners that are wary of hiring someone off of Craigslist and with social distancing, people can’t be as social at work or out and about, so it’s just way more convenient and way more safe than your traditional route,” Caballero added.
“Everything is contactless with our service, no more does the vendor have to come to the property to bid, no money has to be exchanged, all of that stuff is in the app,” Caballero said.
“Basically what they do is they enter the address and when they want it done, and that goes to pre-screened vendors in the area that there’s a lawn up for bid, those bids go to the homeowners, the homeowners can see vendors ratings, reviews, price, pictures of other work and then they can decide.”
