The AP reports incumbent Rep. Mike Turner (R) will win reelection to Ohio’s 10th district seat in the U.S House of Representatives.
The seat represents the counties of Montgomery, Greene and Fayette.
Turner was challenged by Desiree Tims (D).
Tims released a statement around 1 a.m. conceding the race to Turner.
“I know this is not the outcome we hoped for - that we worked so hard for. But I am so proud of the race we ran. And we never would have made it this far without you,” Tims said. “A short while ago, I spoke to Congressman Turner and congratulated him on winning re-election.”
Turner was first elected to Congress in 2002 and is a subcommittee Chairman on the House Armed Services Committee and member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Tims has worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). She also was elected as President of the Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus.
