Harrison Twp. Kroger reopened after electrical fire

UPDATE @ 10:20 a.m. (Dec. 28)

Patty Leesemann, spokeswoman for Kroger, said earlier reports of a roof collapse were incorrect.

The Kroger at 3520 W. Siebenthaler Ave. had a small electrical fire in the deli/bakery freezer, Leesemann said.

The fire department was called about 9:20 p.m. Sunday. The store was evacuated, and was reopened about 8:30 a.m. Monday, Leesemann said.

She said the fire inspector was out early Monday and cleared the store for reopening.

FIRST REPORT

A Kroger store was evacuated tonight after a water issue caused part of the roof to collapse.

No injuries were reported around 9:30 p.m. when crews were called to a fire alarm at the grocery store, 3520 W. Siebenthaler Ave.

A water flow problem apparently led part of the roof to collapse, with water flowing into the store, according to initial reports.
