Funeral arrangements made for teen victim in ATV crash

The Valley View High School ninth-grader killed in a recent ATV crash was active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America, played football and was a class officer at his school.

That's according to the obituary for 15-year-old Levi Alejandro Montoya, who lost his life June 5 on Chicken Bristle Road.

An estimated 150 students, teachers and administrators of the Valley View district gathered at the high school as word spread through the community within minutes of the fatal crash.

Levi earned the Star FFA Award and served as an FFA Sentinel for his class. In addition, Levi was president of the KNL 4-H Club and served an Ohio 4-H Ambassador.

Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, at South Third Street and Central Avenue in Miamisburg. A funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by internment at the Trissel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Levi Montoya Memorial Fund at the First National Bank of Germantown.
