FUDGE Foundation hosts ‘Keeping the 9 Alive’ event today

DAYTON — The FUDGE Foundation is scheduled to host an event to observe the anniversary of the Oregon District Mass Shooting.

The event named “Keeping the 9 Alive,” will honor the nine victims killed two years ago in the 2019 shooting.

Starting at 6 p.m. on today, community leaders will join outside Blind Bob’s to speak about gun violence and the danger it presents.

There will be a nine-minute moment of silence to honor the victims of the shooting.

Music, prayer, and a candle-lighting service will also take place during the event.

According to the foundation’s website, resources will be available to those who are victims of trauma.

The FUDGE Foundation stands for Flourishing Under Distress Giving Encouragement.

The foundation was created to address, prevent, and support survivors of all trauma, according to their website.

Their mission states they “support individuals on their journey of grief and healing from traumatic events through the delivery of support service and advocacy at both a local and national level.”
