The Frisch’s on Colonel Glenn Highway in Fairborn is set to close tomorrow, Dec. 11, and the one in Tipp City will close its doors on Dec. 20.

TRENDING STORIES:

There would typically be a Big Boy statue in front of the Frisch’s restaurant in Tipp City, but a worker told News Center 7 on Tuesday that they recently removed it since the location is closing.

Bill Bradley said his bible study group has been coming to the Tipp City Frisch’s once a week after their meetings for nearly 10 years. He added that the restaurant expects the group every week and sets aside a table for them.

“We just like the friendship here because they cater to us,” he said.

While he saw the other recent Frisch’s closures, Bradley didn’t think it would affect the Tipp City location.

“We heard stories that maybe this one was a little different, something about franchises or something,” he said. “But if you don’t pay your rent, you get kicked out.”

News Center 7 has been reporting on these closures for the past several weeks. We learned that the chain is behind $4.5 million in rent and the landlord company, NNN Reit, asked for eviction orders for several locations.

Bradley told News Center 7 at 5:30 that he’s sad to see their go-to meeting spot close its doors.

“The people who wait on us are kind of like family after so many years. For a lot of us, we wanted the same thing all the time so they just say, ‘Well, you know, number one. Number two, you know,’” Bradley said.

He told News Center 7 that he doesn’t know at this time where the group’s meeting spot will be.
