Frightful fostering: Halloween tours aim to raise funds for Middletown animal rescue organization

MIDDLETOWN — A Middletown woman is looking to trade Halloween scares for charity with benefits of a spooky tour going to help a new animal rescue organization.

Tours at The Haunted Zone were first set up by Cinda Lee in Middletown about 12 years ago as a gathering for friends.

“I started it out just for my friends for a Halloween party and someone suggested I do it for public,” Lee told News Center 7′s Candace Price Friday.

But this year the scares will be for a good cause with donations and funds for the tours going to benefit All Paws Matter, a charity and animal rescue organization Lee said is very close to her heart.

“We’re limited right now because since we are new we don’t have enough fosters,” Lee said.

She added she’s been passionate about helping animals since as long as she could remember.

“My mom instilled it me when I was little. We would see a dog on the side of the road and we would try to find its owner.”

And that’s something Lee still does today through the All Paws Matter charity.

“I don’t think people understand how rewarding it is and it is incredibly rewarding,” Lee said.

The rescue is currently helping four foster dogs that are in need of homes through adoptions. Details about the tours and adoptions can be found on the organization’s Facebook page and website.

Tours slots are available through Nov. 8, according to the Facebook event.
