DAYTON — The Dayton community is mourning the loss of former Dayton Fire Chief Larry Collins.
Collins joined the department in 1978 and served as Dayton’s Fire Department Director and Chief from 1997 to 2008.

“He was instrumental in the establishment of the Dayton Regional HazMat Team and many other significant programs and initiatives that will have an impact on this region for generations,” said Dayton Police and Fire in a Facebook post.
Collins son, Brandon Collins, is now a member of Dayton Fire.
