CENTERVILLE — It’s a boy! The first baby of the new year in the Dayton area was welcomed to the world just after midnight on New Year’s Day.
Jamie William Burns Jr. was born at 12:01 a.m. at Miami Valley Hospital South, according to a hospital spokesperson.
He is 7 pounds 13 ounces and 19 inches.
Jamie is the first child of Laniya Gresham and Jamie Burns.
The first baby of the new year for Kettering Health was born at 12:10 a.m. at Kettering Medical Center.
A girl was the first baby of 2019 born at Mercy Health - Springfield Regional Medical Center. Andrew and Abigail Machan of Bellbrook welcomed their first child, daughter Adaline Marie Machan at 12:15 a.m. She weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 21 inches.
Mercy Health’s Fairfield Hospital and Anderson Hospital also have welcome their first babies of 2019.
Fairfield Hospital’s first baby was born at 1:33 a.m. and Anderson Hospital’s first baby was born at 2:34 a.m., according to Mercy Health.
