Firefighters on scene of gas leak in Yellow Springs

YELLOW SPRINGS — Firefighters and deputies are on the scene of a gas leak in Yellow Springs Friday afternoon.

Greene County Sheriff’s deputies and Yellow Springs firefighters were dispatched around 2:59 p.m. on initial reports of a gas leak in the 230 block of North High Street, Greene County Sheriff’s dispatchers told News Center 7.

There are no evacuations at this time, Yellow Springs Police confirmed.

Officers are reporting a strong odor in the area, according to initial scanner traffic.

CenterPoint Energy has been requested and is heading to the scene.

News Center 7 has a crew at the scene.
