HUBER HEIGHTS — Firefighters in Huber Heights battled a house fire Tuesday afternoon on Longford Road.
The fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Longford Road. Firefighters arrived and found the house and garage engulfed in flames, according to emergency dispatch reports.
Huber Heights Battalion Chief Michael Muhl said there were two occupants inside the house at the time of the fire. He said they managed to make it out safely.
The fire was brought under control quickly and the American Red Cross was called in to provide assistance if the occupants needed it.
Muhl said there was a lot of smoke and heat damage to the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
