UPDATE@11:13 p.m.: Workers remodeling a house on Fer Don Road said they went to lunch Monday night and returned to find flames in the front part of the vacant house.
Chief Mark Lynch, Harrison Twp. fire, said the fire at the bank owned property does not appear to be suspicious, but is under investigation.
Crews were able to contain the flames to the front hallway, Lynch said. There were no injuries.
He estimated the damage at "a few thousand dollars."
EARLIER: A house fire on Fer Don Road appears to be under control.
Harrison Twp. crews were dispatched to the 4000 block of Fer Don Road at about 9:25 Monday night on a report of a structure fire.
Neighbors say the house was being rehabbed.We have a crew on scene.
