FBI mostly mum about morning raids on 4 Montgomery County homes

UPDATE @ 8:05 p.m.:  The FBI isn't elaborating about the raids Thursday morning on four Montgomery County homes where law enforcement served sealed search warrants.

“The only information I can confirm is that the FBI and our law enforcement partners were conducting law enforcement operations at locations in the Dayton area today,” FBI spokesman Todd Lindgren said.

UPDATE @ 8:50 a.m.:

Raids conducted at four homes in Montgomery County are connected to the same investigation, according to officials.

The FBI, Montgomery County RANGE Task Force and Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies were on scene this  morning at these addresses:

  • 2300 block of Wilding Avenue, Harrison Twp.
  • 2200 block of Cardinal Avenue, Harrison Twp.
  • first block of Cromwell Place, Harrison Twp.
  • 5100 block of Pepper Drive, Huber Heights

Officials did not release any further details about their investigation and a call to the FBI has not been returned.

Our crew at the scene observed a tactical-style shotgun being removed from the home on Pepper Drive in Huber Heights.

FIRST REPORT

The FBI, Montgomery County RANGE Task Force and sheriff’s deputies are at least two raids in the county.

They are at a house in the 2300 block of Wilding Avenue, Harrison Twp. Details of the investigation have not been released.

Our crew on scene reports that some members of law enforcement are wearing what appear to be HAZMAT suits.

Officials are at a second scene on Payne Avenue, near Wilding Avenue. It’s unknown if that scene is related to the investigation on Wilding.
