Family Dollar robbed at gunpoint, suspect at large

Police are hoping surveillance video will lead them to an armed robber.

Family Dollar, 1130 N. Main St., was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday evening and the suspect is still at large.

According to a Dayton Police Department incident report, the man pulled a handgun on a cashier and stole money from the register before fleeing on Helena Avenue.

Officers were called to the store at 6:14 p.m. and the cashier told them the suspect was acting suspicious before the robbery took place. Police say a check of surveillance video confirmed the incident took place as the cashier stated.

No arrests have been made but the robber is described as a black male, standing 5'8'' weighing 150 pounds.
