FAIRBORN — A local distillery closed permanently this weekend.

Stillwrights Distillery announced the decision to close their doors on their Facebook page Saturday afternoon.

The company, also known as Flat Rock Spirits Distillery, wrote “We will be closed permanently as of 5-8-2021. Thank you so much for your support over the past years.”

The distillery was founded in 2010. The company was ran by co-owners Brad Measel, Shawn Measel and James Bagford.

Their website said their interest in handcrafted spirits inspired them to create the company and its straight bourbon whiskey, moonshine and rum.

The distillery moved to its Fairborn location at 5380 Intrastate Dr. in Fairborn, near I-675 and SR 444, in 2012.

Bottles are still available while supply lasts on the Ohio Liquor website; just search Stillwrights.
