ROSS COUNTY — The National Weather Service confirmed Saturday afternoon that a tornado touched down in Ross County overnight.
Officials said it is apparent that a tornado touched down near South Salem.

Erica McNeal, an Enon native who now lives in South Salem, says her pole barn was destroyed last night by a tornado. Her next door neighbors’ properties were also damaged.
A tornado was also confirmed by NWS near Frankfort in Ross County. It has not yet been determined if it was a separate tornado from the one near South Salem.

A final assessment including results of the survey revealed that a E0 tornado touched down at 1:25 a.m. and stayed on the ground for one minute. Winds were estimated to hit a maximum of 85 mph. The tornado’s maximum path width was 20 yards and its length was 0.1 miles.
A child sustained minor injuries due to flying glass.
