CLARK COUNTY — Governor Mike DeWine is honoring the life and service of the Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy who died Sunday after an officer-involved shooting and SWAT standoff at a mobile home park.
DeWine ordered that both United States and State of Ohio be flown at half-staff on all public buildings and grounds throughout Clark County and at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus in honor on Deputy Matthew Yates.
Yates was shot while responding to a call at Harmony Estates Mobile Home Park. He was flown to Miami Valley Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Flags are ordered to remain lowered until sunset on the day of his interment.
