JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Jefferson Township.
Deputies and medics were dispatched to the area of US 35 and West Third Street around 2:50 p.m. on a report of shots heard, according to a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

A male victim was located at W. Third St. and State Route 35 with a gunshot to his back, the spokesperson said.
The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The shooting scene was located at the Olive Hills apartments in the area of Calumet Ln. and Bronson St.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
