DAYTON — The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will expand its service in Northern Montgomery county starting in early January.

This will take affect January 8, 2023, according to a Dayton RTA spokesperson.
Most areas in and around Trotwood, along with a stretch of Salem Avenue from Downtown Dayton, will be, “served by Route 8, the expanded Route 12, the new Northern Connector and Connect On-Demand.”
Route 12 will expand further west and will end at a loop along East Main Street, South Perry Street, Grand Avenue and South Broadway Street and provide access to and from Downtown Dayton into the City of Trotwood, the spokesperson said.
The North Community Connector will stretch from Union Road and Main Street in Trotwood along Shiloh Springs, Shoup Mill and Needmore Roads and end near the Kroger along Brandt Pike in Northeast Dayton.
RTA will also introduce a new route, Route 6. It is the first of two phrases for the new route which will serve south of Downtown Dayton, along Far Hills Avenue.
