Daughter accused of stabbing mother to death formally charged

MIDDLETOWN — A Middletown woman accused of stabbing her mother to death is now facing formal charges.

Mekeshia Lattimore, 44, was indicted Wednesday on two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault, according to Butler County Common Pleas Court records. She was arraigned on Wednesday as well.

Lattimore was arrested Oct. 30 after she allegedly stabbed her 72-year-old mother, Minnie Lewis, to death.

As News Center 7 previously reported, Middletown police responded to the 600 block of 14th Avenue on Oct. 30 on reports of a stabbing.

When they got to the scene, they found Lewis suffering from stab wounds. She was transported to Atrium Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

Lattimore remains held in the Butler County Jail. She is scheduled to be back in court for a competency evaluation hearing on Jan. 15.
