SPRINGFIELD — A man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Clark County early Sunday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Emergency crews responded to the accident on Urbana Road near Willow Road in Moorefield Twp. just after midnight Sunday, state troopers said in a media release.
Charles D. Alfrey, 53 from Quincy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation found Alfrey was traveling south on Urbana Road when he drifted off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail, state troopers said.
Alfrey was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred and state troopers are investigating if alcohol was a contributing factor.
Additional details were not available and the crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
