Coroner identifies woman hit, killed by vehicle near Miami Valley Hospital

DAYTON — A woman who was hit by a vehicle near Miami Valley Hospital Wednesday morning died from her injuries at the hospital, according to a Dayton police spokesperson.

Sheryl A. Manns, 55, of Dayton was identified as the victim killed in the crash, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger. Manns’ cause and manner of death remain under investigation by the coroner’s office.

The crash was reported at the intersection South Main Street and Wyoming Street around 6:15 a.m. Manns was taken inside the hospital after the crash for treatment but later died from her injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dayton police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
