Police seek public’s help identifying pedestrian critically injured in Huber Heights crash

HUBER HEIGHTS — Police are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle and suffered critical injuries in Huber Heights Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported in the 4700 block of Brandt Pike, north of Needmore Road, around 1:15 a.m.

An initial investigation found a man attempted to cross Brandt Pike when he was hit by a passing pickup truck, police said. Investigators added the man did not cross the street in a marked crosswalk and was not wearing any reflective clothing at the time of the crash.

The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition. Investigators said they do not know the victim’s identity, and are asking for the public to call police if they possibly know the man injured in the crash or know if a loved one is missing.

The victim was described by police as a light-skinned, black man in his early to middle 20s, police said in a media release. He was wearing black jeans and no shirt. Those with information about the possible identity of the victim are asked to contact Huber Heights police at 937-233-1565.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash and will not be cited for the incident, police said.
