Coronavirus Pandemic: What you need to know Monday

Four COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the last week at the St. Leonard continuing care retirement community in Centerville, a spokesperson for the facility confirmed to News Center 7.

Residents, families, and employees have been notified about the new cases, the spokesperson said.

In accordance with previous Ohio guidelines and requirements, the Ohio National Guard will be at the facility Tuesday to test all employees, the spokesperson said.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base confirmed a childcare worker at the Wright Field North center tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the center reopening today, a base spokesperson said in a social media post.

Base personnel disinfected the center and it reopened as planned today, officials said.

Pop-up testing for the coronavirus has begun to expand testing throughout the state, part of the state’s continuing response to the pandemic.

LATEST STATE DATA: As of Monday afternoon, there have been at least 41,576 confirmed or probable cases in the state, 2,573 deaths, and 6,948 hospitalizations, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

Ohio has an estimated population of approximately 11.7 million, census records show.

Of the state’s positive cases, 12% are from Ohio’s prisons. At those prisons, there has been an increase in testing.

There have been 554,128 people tested for coronavirus in Ohio.

In the state, 6,099 cases are health care workers, which is 15 percent of the cases.
