Cloudy with a Chance of Podcast is back during an extra cold edition this week!

This week, crippling cold took hold of the Midwest and eastern United States as the weakening of the Polar Vortex helped to drive the coldest air of the season south. Cold weather records were smashed in the Midwest and in the Miami Valley, wind chill values dropped as low as 42 degrees below zero!

This cold weather closed schools and businesses. It also had a huge impact on our communities including the homeless and less fortunate.

The House of Bread in Dayton, Ohio is an organization that provides a hot lunch every day 365 days a year. When the cold impacts their guests, they step up to open early and provide extras like clothing to keep everyone safe. Executive Director, Melodie Bennett sat down with McCall and Kirstie to talk about just how dangerous this cold snap was and how the community stepped up to help each other.
