CLEARCREEK TWP. — A Clearcreek Township Officer shot in the line of duty is back in the hospital after being released from a rehabilitation center last weekend.
Officer Eric Ney was released from the Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio on Saturday, July 30. He was there to undergo therapy and further assessment for his injuries sustained after being shot across his face while responding to a domestic violence incident on July 12.
On Monday morning, Clearcreek Township Police Chief John Terrill confirmed with News Center 7 that Ney was re-admitted into the ICU at Miami Valley Hospital Friday night with “two large blot clots blocking the arteries to his lungs.”
Terrill says it is believed Ney will be released sometime this week if all goes well.
News Center 7 will continue updating this story.
