The student who brought the party popper handed it off to another student who was removed from the bus for fighting after he began to shoot confetti at other people.

The student who shot the confetti was suspended from transportation services with Dayton Public Schools indefinitely and the academy agreed that the student should stay home today.

"This morning there was some concern that a student had a weapon on a school bus,” Dr. Elizabeth Lolli, superintendent of Dayton Public Schools said.

“The driver of the bus immediately contacted Dayton Police to investigate. It was determined the Montgomery Preparatory Academy student had a confetti party popper on the school bus. At no point was there a weapon on the bus. The safety of our students is our utmost priority."
