Chappelle to screen “Untitled” documentary in Cincy; Miami Valley natives direct project

CINCINNATI — Miami Valley native Dave Chappelle will make an appearance in Cincinnati in November in support of his “Untitled” documentary arena tour.

According to our news partners at WCPO-TV, Chappelle, who lives in Yellow Springs, will be at Heritage Bank Centner on Nov. 17, 2021, to view his “Untitled” documentary.

Chappelle has been performing cornfield concerts at an outdoor venue in the Greene County village of Yellow Springs following the death of George Floyd and the shutdown due to COVID-19.

Documentarians Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, who are both from the Miami Valley directed “Untitled,” according to WCPO-TV. Reichert and Bognar directed “American Factory” and won an Academy Award for it.

According to Heritage Bank Center’s website, no cellphones will be allowed inside the venue for the screening of the documentary. Officials at the arena said, guests will be required to lock their phones and smart watches in Yondr pouches till the end of the show. The website continued by saying that if anyone is caught using a cellphone, they will be immediately asked to leave the arena.

Tickets for the event go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. Chappelle will also screen his documentary in Cleveland and Columbus.

Chappelle has recently made headlines after his latest Netflix special “The Closer” was criticized for it’s anti-transgender comments.

According to the Associated Press, some Netflix employees protested last Wednesday by walking out due to the comments made in the special.
