Elizabeth Marie Parker, 19, was a passenger in a car and died from her injuries in the crash late Monday night, a spokesperson for the NPS said in a media release Wednesday.

The single-vehicle crash was reported around 11:45 p.m. Monday on Spur, the roadway that connects Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. A preliminary investigation found the Honda sedan went off the right side of the road and crashed into the rock hillside, the spokesperson said.

Parker, who was the front-seat passenger, was taken to LeConte Medical Center in nearby Sevierville, Tennessee where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the car and another passenger, who were not identified, were flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment. Their conditions were not released.

The crash remains under investigation by park rangers and additional details were not released.
