— An Ice Storm Warning has been issued for southern Miami Valley until noon. Counties include: Butler, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren.
Significant amount of ice accumulation will make road conditions dangerous, or impossible.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire Miami Valley until noon Thursday; the advisory for Randolph County is in effect through 7 p.m. Thursday. A wintry mix is expected to fall early Thursday, and roads could be slick.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies through the evening will give way to a wintry mix by midnight, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.
The mix of freezing rain, sleet, and some snow will develop by midnight. Ice accumulation up to one-tenth of an inch will be possible on elevated surfaces, leading to slick spots on untreated roads by morning. Temperatures will fall from the lower 30s into the upper 20s by morning.
Thursday: A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and some snow starts in the morning with numerous slick spots expected. Precipitation will transition over to rain later in the morning and will linger into the afternoon. Afternoon rain may mix with snowflakes or could transition over to snow before ending in the evening. Highs will be in the upper 30s.
Friday: Clouds will break with blustery and cool conditions with highs only reaching the lower 40s.
Saturday: Partly cloudy skies to start the day with an increase in clouds late. Highs rebound into the lower 40s.
Sunday: Skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance for a few rain or snow showers late in the day or evening. Highs will be in the upper 30s.
