Bellbrook works to revitalize downtown area with new businesses

Bellbrook is working to revitalize the downtown area by bringing in new businesses and ensuring current businesses stay there.

A meeting was held last month to get feedback on what the community would like to see happen, and the city also hired a consultant to come in and evaluate what the area needs.

City Manager Melissa Dodd said they have seen too many businesses leave the area in recent years.

“Big box stores started popping up on the outskirts of town and some of the downtown businesses weren’t able to keep up and were forced to shut down, close up shop.”

A meeting to hear suggestions from the consultant is set for July 18 at 7 p.m. at Bellbrook Middle School, and the community is invited to attend.
