Sinclair Community College’s fiscal year ‘remarkable,’ school president says

This week's episode of WHIO Reports focuses on Sinclair Community College and all of the latest happenings taking place on it's Dayton campus as well as other campuses around the region.

Sinclair Community College President Steve Johnson said the school completed a “remarkable” year in 2018-19.

“This has been another remarkable year for Sinclair,” Johnson said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to the upcoming year, and I am energized by the great things Sinclair will be doing for the region in the months and years to come.”

College officials on Friday released a list of accomplishments made for the fiscal year ending June 30.

Those accomplishments included opening a Centerville campus, ranking No. 1 in the nation in offering work-based learning programs and graduating the largest class in the history of the college (30 percent larger than the 2018 class).

This fall, Sinclair College will also open the $15 million James McSwiney Welcome Center, in Building 10. The center establishes the college’s front door to the community and a re-engineers its approach to how students connect, enroll and engage with the college.
