BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek city leaders met Monday night to discuss Airbnb and VRBO rentals.
City leaders are voting on an ordinance that would require short-term rental owners to register for a license to rent their properties.
The license would last for two years and would need to be filed with the City of Beavercreek’s planning and development director.

The new ordinance would also create a database for short-term rentals so the city knows where they are and how many are in Beavercreek.
The ordinance states that people renting the home could stay for 30 days or less and there would be a limit of two adults per bedroom.
It would also require the rental owner to pay the 3 percent hotel tax.

News Center 7′s Taylor Robertson spoke with Mayor Bob Stone before the meeting.
“It’s being discussed at all levels, including the state and so we felt it was time to do something. Other communities are sitting back and waiting to see what happens but we decided to go ahead and move forward on,” Stone said.
We are working to learn if the ordinance passed and will update as new information becomes available.
