MIDDLETOWN — An area coalition group is working to lower the amount of impaired driving on Super Bowl Sunday.
The Warren County Safe Communities Coalition will offer free or discounted safe rides home this Sunday.

Coalition members will be at Carol’s Speakeasy Lounge, located at 4440 S. Dixie Hwy., from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday to offer free Uber gift cards.
The Uber gift cards were donated by Atrium Medical Center’s Trauma Center and will be available while supplies last.
“We want football fans to have fun, especially while cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals, but also to remember to drink responsibly. We hope to make it even easier to arrive home safely with free gift cards for using a mobile app to hail a ride,” Ann Brock, coordinator for Warren County Safe Communities Coalition and trauma outreach at Atrium Medical Center, said in a release.
Data from the Ohio Department of Public Safety showed that there were 220 OVI-related accidents in Warren County last year.

In addition free Uber cards, the coalition partnered with over a dozen area pizza restaurants. Those who order from participating restaurants on Sunday will see a sticker on the box with the message “Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.”
“We want the message to be delivered to the doorstep of as many Super Bowl fans as possible on one of the busiest days for pizza deliveries of the year,” Brock said.
